🛠️ Migrate to Chati from Your Existing WhatsApp API Provider #
Thinking about switching from your current WhatsApp Business API provider to Chati? You’re making a smart move.
Chati offers a fast, secure, and reliable platform to manage all your WhatsApp customer conversations, broadcasts, chatbots, and workflow automation — with complete control and flexibility.
This guide will help you seamlessly migrate your existing WhatsApp Business number and retain all essential assets without downtime.
✅ What Gets Migrated When You Switch to Chati #
When migrating your WhatsApp API setup to Chati, Meta allows you to retain key business data:
- Your existing WhatsApp phone number
 - Display name associated with your number
 - Account quality rating
 - Messaging limit tier (1K, 10K, or 100K daily conversations)
 - Verified green tick badge (if approved by Meta)
 - Previously approved high-quality templates

📌 Note: While templates are preserved, Meta duplicates them as fresh entries in your new BSP (Business Solution Provider) account — so quality ratings are not carried over. However, re-approval is not required for high-quality templates.
🚫 What Does NOT Get Migrated #
The following data cannot be transferred during the WhatsApp API migration process:
- ❌ Chat history from your previous platform
 - ❌ Low-quality, rejected, or pending templates
 - ❌ Analytics and message insights
 - ❌ Authentication tokens and API credentials

💡 If chat history is critical for your business, export or back it up before initiating migration.
⚙️ Pre-Migration Requirements #
To start the migration process to Chati, make sure these conditions are met:
- Your WhatsApp number is registered and verified with Meta
 - Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is disabled
 - Your number is accessible via SMS or voice call for OTP verification
 - You have admin access to your Facebook Business Manager

🔐 Step 1: Disable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) #
Before Chati can take over management of your number, 2FA must be turned off:
- Go to Meta Business Settings
 - Click on “WhatsApp Accounts” under “Accounts”
 - Choose the WABA (WhatsApp Business Account) linked to your number
 - Click WhatsApp Manager → Phone Number Settings
 - Select your number and click “Turn Off Two-Step Verification”
 - Meta will send a confirmation link to your registered business email
 - Click the email link to disable 2FA

🚧 If the button is greyed out, make sure your business email is verified in the Meta Business Settings.
Once 2FA is disabled, you’re ready to complete the migration inside Chati.
🚀 Step 2: Complete the Migration in Chati #
Now that your number is ready for migration, follow these steps:
- Log in to your Chati Dashboard
 - Navigate to WhatsApp Setup > Migrate Existing Number
 - Select or create your WhatsApp Business Account (WABA)
 - Provide your business display name and select a business category
 - Add your existing WhatsApp number
 - Choose a verification method: SMS or voice call
 - Enter the OTP to verify the number
 - Chati will now connect your number via Meta Cloud API

The process typically takes just a few minutes. You can start sending messages immediately once the connection is live.
🕒 Is There Downtime During Migration? #
No. Meta’s migration system ensures zero downtime:
- Your old provider can send/receive messages during the transition
 - Once Chati takes over, the number is automatically rerouted
 - Your templates and messaging limits remain active
